Knock of 132 makes Chanderpaul tour top scorer

PIETERMARITZBURG, South Africa, Dec 20 (AFP) - Shivnarine
Chanderpaul reached 132 runs on the second day of the four-day
game with South Africa A here Sunday, lifting the West Indian
side to 256 for six wickets when play was stopped early because
of bad light.
His impressive tally pushed the 24-year-old lefthander way above
Carl Hooper (109) as the tour topscorer.
Junior Murray was confident, taking 45 off 85 balls, but Floyd
Reifer didn't manage to contribute a single run to the West
Indies score and was trapped leg before by Lance Klusener off the
first delivery he faced.
Klusener also bowled Darren Ganga, caught at third slip by Sven
Koenig, but not before Ganga reached 21 runs in 87 balls. On
Saturday, Klusener took out opening batsman Stuart Williams.
Justine Kemp took out Murray (45), after claiming stand-in
captain Carl Hooper (24) on Saturday.
The only other wicket-taker so far is Makhaya Ntini, who took
Clayton Lambert on Saturday but later took a pasting from
Chanderpaul conceding 50 runs in 10 overs.
The tourists, 2-0 down in a five-Test series, are using the match
against South Africa's second stringers to play themselves into
form ahead of the third Test which starts in Durban on December
26, but play has so far been limited.
After only two hours of play Saturday, thanks to a late start and
bad evening light, the West Indies were 77 for three.
