record of making most ODI appearances in West Indies alongwith
fellow fast bowler Courtney Walsh.The wicket of Shahid Afridi was 228th for Curtly Ambrose, which
took him past Courtney Walsh's record tally of 227 wickets for West
Indies. Ambrose was playing his 177th match as against Walsh's 205.Inzamam-ul-Haq, on 3, completed his 7000 runs in his 219th match
and 208th innings. He became fourth Pakistani and tenth batsman
overall to have done so. At 30 years 47 days Inzamam became second
youngest after India's Sachin Tendulkar (25 years 74 days) to reach
this mark. The previous record for Pakistan was on the name of Saeed
Anwar who was 31 years 151 days old while completing his 7000th run.Inzamam-ul-Haq, on 34, completed his 1000 runs against West Indies
in his 33rd match. He became fifth Pakistani and eighth batsman in the

Akram and Mushtaq Ahmed was Pakistan's best for this wicket against
West Indies - home or away. This expunged previous record partnership
of 41* runs between Ijaz Faqih and Rashid Khan at Adelaide on
28-01-1984. Incidentally the previous record stand for Pakistan
against West Indies in West Indies was paltry 11 runs between Rashid
Latif and Ata-ur-Rahman at Kingstown on 30-03-1993.The catch of Curtly Ambrose was fourth for Shoaib Malik as a
substitute, which takes him past Hassan Raza, Mohammad Wasim and
Mushtaq Ahmed's tally of three catches. Now only Shoaib Mohammad (7)
and Asif Mujtaba (6) have taken more catches as a substitute for
Pakistan.The victory target of 198 runs was the second lowest that West
Indies failed to achieve at home soil. The lowest, however, still
remains as 159 set by New Zealand at Georgetown on 03-04- 1996. West
Indies had then lost by four runs.Moin Khan has now captained Pakistan in five matches against West
Indies, which equalled New Zealand's Lee Germon's record of most
matches by a keeper captain against West Indies.Wasim Akram won Man of the Match award for 20th time in his
career. He became second Pakistani after Saeed Anwar (23) and tenth
player overall to win 20 awards.
