Grant Flower who dismissed Brian Lara, completed his 50 wickets
in ODIs.He became fifth Zimbabwean to do so after Heath Streak (111
wickets in 93 matches), Paul Strang (83 in 81), Guy Whittall (75
in 97) and Eddo Brandes (70 in 59). By taking 126 matches to reach this milestone, Grant Flower
became sixth slowest in ODI history after Pakistan's Saleem Malik
(203), Australia's Allan Border (199), Sri Lanka's Aravinda de Silva
(183), India's Sachin Tendulkar (175) and Sourav Ganguly (133).
Incidentally the previous slowest Zimbabwean to do so was Guy Whittall
whose 50th wicket came in his 74th match. West Indies' total (232-7) is its lowest against Zimbabwe. The
previous lowest was 233 for 9 (in 50 overs) at Hyderabad (India) on
21-11-1993. Neil Johnson's innings (95) is the highest for Zimbabwe against
West Indies. This obliterates Andy Flower's 89 at Singapore on 02-09-
1999.The first wicket stand of 24 runs between Neil Johnson and Craig
Wishart is a new record for Zimbabwe for this wicket against West
Indies. This just beat the previous record stand of 23 between Flower
brothers at Hyderabad (India) on 21-11-1993. Neil Johnson won his sixth Man of the Match award. With this he
equalled Paul Strang's tally of awards. Now only Andy Flower (7) has
won more awards than him for Zimbabwe.
