Four New Players in WI Squad for Kenya

Four uncapped players, Azeemul Haniff, Marlon Samuels, Colin Stuart and Kerry Jeremy have been selected for the West Indies Senior team to play in the ICC Knock-Out Tournament in Kenya, from 3rd - 15th October, 2000.

The members of the 14-man squad to be led by Jimmy Adams (captain) are Sherwin Campbell, Wavell Hinds, Brian Lara, Sylvester Joseph, Courtney Browne (wicketkeeper), Nixon McLean, Mervyn Dillon, Laurie Williams, and Mahendra Nagamootoo.

Chairman of Selectors, Mike Findlay, commenting on the selection for this One-Day Tournament noted that some members of the squad who toured England recently are being rested while others are nursing injuries and were therefore not considered for selection.

Seven members of the squad have been called up from the West Indies 'A' Team that is currently playing South Africa 'A' in the Caribbean. The squad will leave for Kenya on 26th September.
