Gauteng contracts Srinath and Crookes

The Gauteng Cricket Board, as part of its strengthening programme, has acquired the services of two exceptional players. Javagal Srinath, the 33-year-old exceptionally quick Indian bowler, is one of the top three bowlers in world cricket today. He is also a man of stature both on and off the field and will bring a wealth of knowledge to Gauteng Cricket. His role, besides playing, will be to coach the young up-and-coming quick bowlers in Gauteng. Javagal will be arriving in mid-September to start his season with the Highveld Strikers.
The Gauteng Cricket Board have also signed all-rounder Derek Crookes, who has represented South Africa, making his debut in 1994/95. He will add an enormous amount of experience and knowledge to Gauteng.
