New-look England favourites for one-day series

England are favourites with bet365 to win the one-day series which begins in Guyana this Sunday

England are favourites with bet365 to carry on their fine form and win the one-day series which begins in Guyana this Sunday. Michael Vaughan's men are 4/6 to win the first ODI, and the same odds in the series betting.
West Indies, who start the series without their record-breaking captain Brian Lara, are 11/10 outsiders. They lost 3-1 in their most recent series, away to South Africa, where Jacques Kallis swept aside any resistance almost single-handedly. There isn't really an England player of similar stature in the one-day game, although Andrew Flintoff must fancy his chances against a very different West Indies bowling attack from that he faced in the Tests.
In the absence of Brian Lara, Vaughan steps up as favourite in the first game's Man of the Match market. He is 6/1, alongside Marcus Trescothick. Neither player made much of an impact in the Test series, apart from the match-saving final innings of the series, so punters may have better luck elsewhere.
It may be worth looking at Paul Collingwood who is 14/1. He has had to sit on sidelines whilst England swept all before them in the Test series and will be chomping at the bit to impress the selectors. Andy Flintoff is attractive at 8/1 - he is in form, and has a chance to contribute with both bat and ball. Of the West Indies players, stand-in captain Ramnaresh Sarwan is tempting at 12/1, and Ridley Jacobs an interesting outside bet at 22/1.
This one-day series introduces new players for both sides. Ian Blackwell, the Somerset allrounder, is a very handy one-day player, and if he can find immediate form he will add some big-hitting power to the middle order. His bowling was effective in last winter's VB Series. He is 22-1 in the Man of the Match market, but 8/1 as Top England bowler in the first match is worth a look.
Ravi Rampaul has had a busy season, travelling from one-day duty in South Africa with the senior side, to the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh. He is second favourite in the Top West Indies bowler market at 7/2 behind the dependable Merv Dillon. Odds of 100/1 in the Top Team Batsman market do not flatter him at all, and given recent West Indies collapses, any of the 11 players could end up with the highest score given a low-scoring contest.
Bet365 are offering a variety of other markets, including Most Sixes, Best Opening Partnership, Batsman Matches and Player Performances.
Bet365 will be betting live "in-running" on West Indies v England
