Pakistan v South Africa, 2000-01
At Kallang Ground, Singapore, August 23
The talented Abdur Razzaq ensured Pakistan a hard-fought win and a place in the final. After a positive start on a slow pitch from Imran Nazir and Shahid Afridi, Pakistan were found wanting at 81 for four in the 19th over. Ijaz Ahmed rallied them again, scoring 56 of a 104-run stand with Razzaq. The South Africans were on track at 123 for three, then Razzaq bowled the ominous-looking Klusener, and Cullinan followed in the next over. All was not lost while McKenzie was adding 63 in 14 overs with wicket-keeper Nic Pothas, who was deputising for the injured Boucher after a 27-hour flight from Barbados, where he had just arrived with South Africa A. But the last five wickets fell for seven runs. Pothas scored 24, having earlier made three dismissals.
