Pakistan v Zimbabwe
15-Apr-2004
At Sharjah, April 3, 2003 (day/night). Pakistan won by 68 runs. Pakistan 6 pts. Toss: Pakistan. One-day international debuts: Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Gul.
Six of the last 12 balls of Pakistan's innings sailed over the rope, as Abdul Razzaq - one of
seven players who did not play in the World Cup match against Zimbabwe - launched his side
back into the game. A remarkable 69 were ransacked from the final four overs; Razzaq, who had
laboured to 19, hit 57 from his last 17 balls. Of his seven sixes, three came in succession off
Ervine. Blignaut, another victim, bowled 11 wides. The recovery had been started by Younis Khan,
who stabilised the innings after an inexperienced top three fell cheaply. In reply, Marillier drove
powerfully but Zimbabwe lost wickets at regular intervals to enthusiastic Pakistan bowling and
impressive fielding. Grant Flower became the second Zimbabwean, after his brother Andy, to play
200 one-day internationals.
Man of the Match: Abdul Razzaq.
