South Africa v Zimbabwe 1999-2000

At Durban, February 2 (day/night)

15-Apr-2001
At Durban, February 2 (day/night). Zimbabwe won by two wickets. Toss: South Africa. International debut: N. D. McKenzie.
Zimbabwe's win off the last ball put all three teams level on points with three qualifying matches left. Both sides suffered top-order collapses before being revived by big seventh-wicket stands. Kallis and Klusener put on 82 for South Africa but their effort was bettered by Andy Flower and Whittall, with 91; both were national records for that wicket. When Flower slashed a catch to Rhodes at backward point, his side still needed 25 off 24 balls with three wickets in hand, and Whittall's run-out by a backhand flick from mid-on by Gibbs left ten to win from nine. By the last over the requirement was four. With the scores level, Streak squeezed the final ball from Kallis to leg; Boucher collected, threw at the stumps and missed by inches as Brent scrambled home.
Man of the Match: A. Flower. Attendance: 18,114.
