Steve Bucknor to hold Umpire coaching courses in Bangladesh

ICC international panel umpire Steve Bucknor is hosting a series of seminars for local umpires following the conclusion of the country's inaugural Test match against India in Dhaka.

Bucknor's tutorials will allow this veteran of 52 Test matches to share his experience and expertise on areas such as match preparation, mental approach, fitness and the concentration levels needed at the top level of international cricket.

More than 20 umpires from the first class game in Bangladesh will be involved over the 10 days following the Test match.

"Steve is one of the most respected umpires in the world game and his views will be of great interest and benefit to local officials," commented ICC Cricket Operations Manager Clive Hitchcock.

The ICC will also lend assistance in the future as it helps Bangladesh develop umpires towards the goal of international representation. The appointment of an ICC Umpires Manager will contribute to this in the near future, as that role will include a brief to monitor and enhance standards at elite level throughout the game.
