The South Australian Cricket Association has named Sturt speedster Shaun Tait in the 12-man squad to play the Western Warriors at Adelaide Oval from this Thursday, December 19.
In his first outing for the State team, 20 year old Tait is the leading wicket-taker this season in the Grade competition.
Also coming in to the Redbacks side is Jeff Vaughan, following his impressive performance in the recent ACB Cup game against the ACT, and as leading run-scorer for Prospect.
Greg Blewett returns from his Australia A duties to captain the State side.
The Redbacks squad is: Greg Blewett (c), Chris Davies, John Davison, Shane Deitz, David Fitzgerald, Ben Higgins, Mark Higgs, Paul Rofe, Mike Smith, Shaun Tait, Jeff Vaughan and Brad Young.
Damien Fleming and Ryan Harris both were unavailable for selection due to injury. Fleming is undergoing rehabilitation for his shoulder strain and Harris continues to recover from his side strain. Both players are likely to be available for selection for the State games in Queensland during January.
The Pura Cup game at Adelaide Oval runs from December 19 to 22. Play starts at 11am and gates open at 10am. Tickets are $6 for adults, $2 for children or $10 for family.
