Walloping Wallace

Philo Wallace was at his explosive best yesterday.

The big, strong, former Barbados skipper turned his heavy bat into a sword at Kensington Oval, mesmerising a large crowd with an impressive 137 against on the second day of Barbados' Carib Beer international challenge semi-final against Trinidad and Tobago.

Wallace's innings paved the way for Barbados taking first innings lead, as they finished the day on 288 for seven and edged towards a finals berth against either Jamaica or Guyana.
