MELBOURNE, Jan 21 AAP - Shane Warne will find out tomorrow whether he will be rushed into the Australian squad for the one-day tri-series finals against England starting in Sydney on Thursday.
Warne underwent a medical review in Melbourne today and later delivered an upbeat assessment of his shoulder condition.
"I'm feeling good and when I get to Sydney tomorrow to prepare for the first final, we will speak to Ricky Ponting and the selectors and consult with the team medicos again before a decision is made on my availability," he said.
Warne was pleased with the range of movement in his shoulder, which he injured fielding during a one-day international on December 15 at the MCG.
He returned to first-class cricket 11 days ago and has played two matches for Victoria, reporting no ill effects.
Team physiotherapist Errol Alcott said Warne's rehabilitation and recovery from his two hitouts so far had been excellent.
"We are happy with the way it has come up after the ING Cup match in Hobart on Sunday," Alcott said.
"He has undergone some treatment today and I have performed a clinical assessment of the shoulder's function. It's looking good."
Selectors will announce the team for the opening tri-series final tomorrow.
Whatever the decision on Warne's availability for the tri-series, the champion leg-spinner now looks an absolute certainty to play in next month's World Cup.
Paceman Glenn McGrath will also join the squad in Sydney, where he will consult medical staff following his recent layoff with a back injury.
