West Indies v Australia 1998-1999

At Bridgetown, April 24

15-Apr-2000
At Bridgetown, April 24. Australia won by four wickets. Toss: West Indies.
Australia took the lead for the first time in the series, with one to play. West Indies won the toss at last after Waugh had been successful in all four Tests and the first five one-dayers, and openers Jacobs and Campbell charged to 81 in 11 overs; in all, Jacobs hit 68 in 56 balls, with 11 fours and two sixes. But both were dismissed by Warne, whose revival continued with three wickets, and the later batsmen could not recapture their momentum. Gilchrist, who had made two catches and a stumping, responded in kind, with 64 in 55 balls, putting on 70 in 11 overs with Mark Waugh. Unlike West Indies, Australia had Bevan to guide them home, with nine balls to spare.
Man of the Match: A. C. Gilchrist.
