West Indies v Pakistan 1999-2000

At Port-of-Spain, April 22

15-Apr-2001
At Port-of-Spain, April 22. West Indies won by 60 runs. Toss: West Indies.
A professional West Indian performance levelled the series to ensure the third match, also at Queen's Park Oval, would draw a bumper Sunday crowd (it was to be played even if one team led 2-0). Campbell's 77 took him past 2,000 one-day runs, and his stands with left-handers Hinds and Gayle paced the innings: he added 58 with Hinds and 50 in 12 overs with Gayle, who hit four fours in 35 balls. Pakistan reached a promising 72 for one in the 16th over before three wickets fell for seven runs in 16 balls. McLean trapped Imran Nazir, while King removed Inzamam-ul-Haq, who had scored three half-centuries against West Indies in this series, and Yousuf Youhana with successive deliveries. The contrasting spin of Adams and Gayle further undermined Pakistan: together they shared five wickets for 49 off 20 overs.
Man of the Match: S. L. Campbell.
