It did not take long for Jess Jonassen to have an impact in international cricket when she claimed three wickets in the 2012 T20 World Cup final against England to secure a four-run victory.
As a left-arm spinner, Jonassen is a hugely versatile bowler capable of operating at any stage of limited-overs innings from taking the new ball to bowling at the death.
Given the depth of Australia's batting she often finds herself in the lower order but could easily be placed much higher. On her Test debut in 2015 she made 99 and 54 against England.
She has had to battle injuries during her career and by 2018 had undergone four knee operations while in 2021 she missed a series against India due to a stress fraction in her shin.
In domestic cricket, Jonassen is a key part of the Brisbane Heat and Queensland teams, currently captaining both sides.
