Bowling skills

Bowling is very different from batting in that it requires a completely different mindset. A bowler can spend long periods of time on the field, where he is not actually bowling.

This section is divided into two parts - Fast Bowling and Spin Bowling. In the fast bowling section, the skills needed to be a fast bowler or a medium pace bowler will be discussed. Besides the fundamentals of the grip, run-up, action and follow through, there are details of how to bowl the different types of balls like the outswinger, inswinger, etc. The variations used effectively by fast bowlers like the yorker, bouncer etc. will also be dealt in detail. There are also topics on mental preparation, fitness & training and various other aspects, the knowledge of which are essential for the fast bowler.

In spin bowling, the topics covered will include off spin, leg spin and left arm spin bowling. The grip, action and delivery for each type of bowling will be clearly explained along with the advanced skills of how to bowl the variations with effect.
